Shamsul Bahrin was the Dean of the Faculty of the Built Environment at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia before founding PAB with two others in 1974. He served as a Principal on a number of Urban and Regional Planning projects including Bangi Structure Plan, Bangi Town Centre Plan, USM School of Medical Science, Cheras Town Park, Kota Kinabalu Urban Development Study, Pusara Negara Master Plan, Bukit Kiara and Kota Bahru Master Plan. Major buildings which Shamsul was
responsible for include: Negeri Sembilan State Secretariat and Assembly Complex,
USM School of Medical Science Kubang Kerian, Seremban Municipal Swimming Pool
Complex, Seremban Bus Terminal and Bangunan Yayasan Negeri Sembilan.
DENNIS G. L. TEOH Dennis, whose main interest lies in design, believes that in addition to interpreting the needs of his client, an architect must be able to respond to the needs of the times. Being involved in various projects of varying complexity and scale, he has thus accumulated many years of wide and in-depth experience in the field of architecture. Some of the major projects include The
School of Veterinary Sciences, UPM; The School of Veterinary Medicine, UPM; The
School of Fisheries and Marine Science, UPM; Maritime Training Centre, Malacca;
Institut Kemahiran MARA; Damansara Specialist Hospital; Naval
base Hospital, Lumut; Merlin Hotel, Port Dickson; the National Heart Institute, KL; Sunway HQ and Bank Negara Training Centre. He was also
responsible for PAB’s entry for the Penang Indoor Stadium Competition and the
Bandar Sunway Ideas Competition, both of which won first placing.
AMZAR AHMAD Amzar graduated from Liverpool Polytechnic in 1984
and has been with PAB since.
CHIAM TAT HONG Graduated from Deakin University in 1984 and
subsequently obtained his Masters in Health Facility Planning from the
Polytechnic of North London in 1990. LEONG SIEW LENG Siew Leng has been involved in various architectural and planning projects which range from building design, documentation and implementation to urban design, development masterplanning, layout planning and feasibility studies. Siew Leng’s interest in design is reinforced by her ability to integrate architectural and planning design skills in a collaborative approach. Some of the projects and development studies
that she has worked on include the KLCC Hotel, the Batu Kawan Masterplan
studies, Miri Marina Park Masterplan, Connemara Estate in Dengkil and Prima
Saujana development.
ZAHARI ZUBIR Zahari has been involved in the design and implementation of projects of varying complexity such as Wisma Ungku A. Aziz for ANGKASA in Kelana Jaya, Bandar Bukit Mahkota Clubhouse for the Lion Group and the revival of Taman KOBENA Senawang. Some of the more technical building projects
that Zahari has worked on includes Bayan Baru Specialist Hospital, Damansara
Specialist Hospital and Tawakal Hospital for KPJ Bhd, Pandan Hospital for
Metrohealth Sdn Bhd, the Fishery Research Complex in Batu Maung for the Ministry
of Agriculture.
CHOONG WOOI CHENG Choong Wooi Cheng worked in San Francisco for 5 years and was an associate of Mack Architects before returning to Malaysia in 1991. He joined a local practice until 1996 prior to his tenure with Perunding Alam Bina where he was involved in the design and implementation of large scale projects including condominium, office building, shopping complex and hotel. He has since then been involved in numerous
projects at Perunding Alam Bina with an emphasis on commercial, healthcare and
military projects and has recently overseen the successful completion of
Commando Training Camp in Mersing. He is currently involved in the
implementation of Temerloh Hospital, Sapangar Bay Naval Base and the KLCC
Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
