The Batu Kawan Sports Complex is poised to become a new landmark serving the Penang State and Malaysia’s Northern Region well into the 21st Century. The development of the new Batu Kawan Stadium and Sports Complex recognises both the growing importance of the mainland area of Penang State, Seberang Perai and the regional significance of the State in Peninsular Malaysia’s Northern Region of Penang, Kedah and Perak.

While primarily serving Penang, this complex will have a wide regional catchment which enhances its potential use and viability. Construction of this comprehensive facility represents an important contribution to the national programme of enhanced sports and outdoor activities.
