This is a Malaysia Health Development Project under the International Bank of
Research and Development (part of the World Bank) involving the construction,
equipping and furnishing of 5 Laboratories for the Department of Chemistry for
water, food and environmental analysis.
The works comprise the execution and completion of one Central Environmental
Health Laboratory at Petaling Jaya and 4 Regional Laboratories in Ipoh, Melaka,
Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. The project was executed in collaboration with David
Ellis Architects Inc. and Nicholls Yallowega Belanger Architects, the Canadian
Consultants for the project.
The project was completed in November 1999 at a cost of RM146 million.
